The two leaders in their niches, BMW and Alpinestars will create together innovative motorcycle safety clothing system. The announcement said that, the first product which will be launched is a BMW Motorrad jacket and an airbag waistcoat.

The new jacket will be on the market in 2015 and will have versions for both male and female. The secret is hiding in the Alpinestars Tech-Air airbag system. This will be the world’s first self-contained street airbag system that independently functions without the need for sensors to be installed on the bike and the subsequent need to link a specific motorcycle to the airbag system used by the rider.

As an additional feature, the jacket and the airbag waistcoat with have comprehensive upper body protection for shoulders, back and frontal torso.
